As a political communication scholar, my work focuses on anti-establishment orientations such as populism, anti-intellectualism, and the “Do Your Own Research” mindset. Specifically, I examine the mechanisms of the supply and demand sides of such beliefs at the intersection of science, politics, and media.
As a science communication scholar, my work focuses on branding science, science engagement, science perceptions, (mis)trust in science, emerging technology, public health, and debated science.
As a quantitative scholar, I often use statistical techniques such as Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), MIMIC Modeling, Factor Analysis, and Regression.
My research is supported and funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Election Research Center at UW-Madison, and the Kavli Foundation.
